I learned after down loading the pictures, that (I believe) this guy is herding some VERY small orange critters. You can see one in the lower right corner (It is going to be hard to get pictures) of the side view with the tag alone. Is that a Mite on this guy?

Dark-winged fungus gnat?
Yep, that looks to be a mite. I'm not sure about the other small arthropods, maybe springtails or thrips.
