Crescent-Marked Lily Aphid I believe
Don't let the name fool you, its actually a polyphagous species that will feed on a number of plants, and the shape of that dorsal patch is pretty distinct (but also highly variable).

Yes, aphids
I'm not sure how much further the ID can be taken (aphids are tough to identify from photos), but knowing what plant they were on could be helpful.
