Size: body length 27.2 mm.
We believe this is a male Proctacanthus rufus. If so, it is a BugGuide record for LA.

Separated
From Proctacanthus hinei by the dark thoracic shield and the genitalia that are narrower than the preceding segments and shorter. Difficult to find sometimes. Favoring cleaner water. One of the most difficult robbers to shoot when alive. One of the great eastern robbers.
