The specimen shown here is probably either M. italica or M. cinnamomea, both Palearctic species. M. italica was described from Italy but has more recently been found to occur more widely in Central Europe north to Denmark and Great Britain. It may have always been present farther north or may have replaced M. cinnamomea in some areas due to climate change.
