Scale insects on magnolia
Montgomery County, Ohio, USA

This large magnolia bush was pretty much fully covered with these scales. Lots of ants, flies, wasps, butterflies also there to feed on the honeydew. I'm guessing the mealybug destroyers (if that's what they are) are feeding on the crawlers.
