Schizogenius pygmaeus Van Dyke
Schizogenius pygmaeus Van Dyke is my initial physical determination for this specimen which is added to the PWM synoptic set of North American Caraboidea. Thank you Margarethe. Many of the western species (10 in AZ) of this genus I find are difficult to distinguish using the key by Whitehead (1972). Some require corroborating study of genitalia. I hope to revisit this specimen for more confident identification.
