Moved
Moved from Discoderus obsidianus. The distinctly bicolored dorsum in image really looks like D. amoenus while the physical voucher I examined (different date) is definitely D. obsidianus. I blame the discrepancy on a mismatch of specimen-to-image ... but maybe it's all just photographic trickery?

Discoderus obsidianus Casey
Discoderus obsidianus Casey is my physical determination for this specimen apparently associated with BugGuide #1653800, same collection site, however date was written 5/17/2017. It is added to my synoptic set of North American Caraboidea. I received ten extra examples of this species without BugGuide numbers from this collection site: 7/16/2019 (7), 7/26/2019 (3). Thank you Margarethe.
