Peachtree borer - Synanthedon exitiosa Oliver, Okanagan-Similkameen, British Columbia, Canada July 20, 2006
The moth that emerged from the pupa shown in the other picture turned out to be a female. Adult sesiids (at least the ones found in BC) inflate their wings quite fast, usually in less than 45 minutes. About 6 to 8 minutes after i took this picture, the female started flying around.
