Metairie Moth from jack blanke - Agrius cingulata

Metairie Moth from jack blanke - Agrius cingulata
Metairie, Jefferson, LA......City of Metairie....approximately 10 miles west of New Orleans...suburban area.. Parish, Louisiana, USA
April 27, 2019
Size: approximately 2" overall
I saw this moth in flight and was surprised by its size. I followed it to a Bromeliad plant on my patio where it landed under a leaf of the plant. I photographed it with an ifone because my camera was not set up at the time. The moth is almost all gray. The green tinting in the picture on the left side of the photo is the result of reflection of the plant rather than the coloring of the moth itself. The moth is colored in varying shades of gray......it appears to have only 4 legs......I have examined all photographs and none show more than 4 legs visibly exposed. The eyes on this moth are very large. The moth remained stationary for hours and may even still be there. I am wondering if eggs are being laid on the underside o the plant leaves. I am now finding my self photographing as many butterflies and moths as I am birds. I am hoping that you can identify this moth for me. I have photographs of moths if you are interested. Thanking you in advance for any help you can provide. Please feel free to use the image as you wish.
