Peachtree Corners, Gwinnett County, Georgia, USA
April 7, 2019
Observed on a Japanese Maple in residential yard. Body length ~ 2 mm. Since found hosting on a Maple (Acer sp.) then possibly Genus Periphyllus (??) Nearby non-winged aphids on same plant shown in BG Image 1657281. Thanks for your help.

You are correct, Periphyllus. Species ID would probably require a cleared and slide mounted specimen. I also took the liberty of linking all your images since they are specimens in the same colony. Aphids are a special case where that is preferred.

Thanks Natalie
I thought they were probably the same but I took the safe route and separated them just in case not. They seem to have moved elsewhere within a couple of week period (?) BTW every time I stop and look at the subject Japanese Maple bush recently a nesting Robin flushes out and startles the heck out of me :)
