Ellychnia hatchi Fender
Moved from Ellychnia facula. Sorry about the error. I change my mind after looking at the paratypes.

Thanks again for your help!
How do you tell the difference between the species?

habitus
It's a tough call for many of the western Ellychnia, which are very dark and non-pubescent. E. hatchi seems to have broader and bolder pronotal vitta, and elytral margins that are somewhat more dilated.

Thanks, Stephen.
Sounds pretty tricky to do!

Moved
Moved from Diurnal Fireflies.

That's terrific.
Never thought we would get an ID to species.

Have just posted another photo of a group from this year. Are they also facula? If so, how can you tell?

Thanks for your help.
