Small Red Dragonfly - Sympetrum corruptum

Small Red Dragonfly - Sympetrum corruptum
Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, USA
April 30, 2019
I believe this is a dragonfly from the genus Sympetrum, due to the two white stripes on the side of the thorax. It was of the smaller variety, like can be seen in the Dot-tailed Whiteface. Found resting on a rose bush in the garden. I had seen it a few minutes prior snag a small bug out of the air to eat.

Variegated Meadowhawk. The teneral condition masks some of the markings on the thorax and abdomen.
