Cyclophora nanaria?
I just placed an image under C. packardi and noticed this image. With the way the AM and PM dots are connected by narrow dark lines and with the darker shading in the ST area and and across the middle of the median area, this looks more like C. nanaria to me. Also, C. nanaria is much more likely in CA than C. packardi.
