Aphid? - Aulacorthum solani

Aphid? - Aulacorthum solani
Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Moved from Aphids.

Do you know the plant?
Might help. Might not. This angle isn't the best for identifying aphids, they are tough to photograph and tough to ID even with a slide mounted specimen and a microscope. Kind of reminds me of Aulacorthum solani but I can't see if there are bands of sclerotization on the dorsum or not.

It was on planted Kale in our garden
... so I'm going to guess that won't help much. I'll try to take photos from more angles next time. Thanks!

Well Aulacorthum solani has been collected on it at least.
It is definitely Macrosiphini, and not many are listed for that hostplant. I bet it is Aulacorthum solani. If not, just an aphid who got lost looking for the right host plant. 😂Aphids are fun!
