Millipede Assassin? -
Rhiginia cruciata
Bullitt County, Kentucky, USA

Black and orange assassin bug?
I had maliciously labeled this as possibly a "bee assassin" - more than happy to tentatively relabel it a "millipede assassin".

Scarlet-bordered Assassin Bug - Rhiginia cruciata
Thanks for the ID! I think you are correct. There seems to be quite a variation in color from light orange to a more scarlet color as well as some having a row of black dots along the border of it's wings and some not having the dots. I have removed the designation of possibly being a "bee" assassin from the title - don't want to give it a bad name! Ha! It appeared to be eating something it had captured on top of a dried flower and I don't think it is a millipede or a bee....
