Size: ½ inch
This beetle was moving & flying very fast. (Difficult to approach for a sharp photo, even w/a telephoto) It briefly landed at midday on a remote dirt two-track.

Probaly won't get
an accurate ID due to photo but,I think this is Cicindela plutonica.
