Crotch's Bumble Bee on Caterpillar Phacelia - Bombus crotchii - female

Crotch's Bumble Bee on Caterpillar Phacelia - Bombus crotchii - Female
Claremont Hills Wilderness Park, Claremont, Los Angeles County, California, USA
May 12, 2019
This Bumble Bee was nectaring on Caterpillar Phacelia (Phacelia cicutaria) adjacent to the Cobal Canyon trail in the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park. Because of the yellow T2 band and the reddish tail tip, I think this is female Bombus crotchii, although I've never seen one before, so confirmation or correction would be greatly appreciated! (I do have more photos from other angles if they are needed to confirm ID.)

Yes, B. crotchi -
Good to see this, Nancy! Looks like she already has some Phacelia pollen on the corbicula.
