very likely Agapostemon texanus
I'm not 100% certain, but still think it could still be moved to the Ag. texanus page if no one objects

I checked through a few of the possibilities Agapostemon species and taxanus, male looks closest to me too, however, I have a lot to learn in this area and welcome any comments. I'm going to move it to species on the strength of your comments but of course encourage any supporting or contradicting views.
