Larvae between bricks

Larvae between bricks
Gardiner, Kennebec County, Maine, USA
May 12, 2019
I found two of these small pinkish larvae with black heads and tiny black spots between some bricks that were stacked under a shed-roof overhang area. One was still in the cocoon, and the other was not. The cocooned larva was still in place a few hours later, but the one that was not in the cocoon disappeared (probably into some nearby leaf litter). They were larger than grains of rice, probably about the same length as the diameter of a nickel.
