Mating pair found on flower of Chaenactis fremontii. Color pattern on base of wing at left kind of reminds me Schinia group...but the wing shape (long & narrow) & posture (held "roof-like") is way off for that group. I really don't have a clear idea on the ID beyond "moth" ;-)

Desert range is good, with a number of records from Anza-Borrego area. And the forewing color pattern of the one on the left is a good match for the one below:
