Honey Bee Mimic - Merodon equestris - male

Honey Bee Mimic - Merodon equestris - Male
Bellevue, King County, Washington, USA
May 15, 2019
Not a bee fly, not a bumblebee mimic, didn't act like a drone fly, but does look like a honey bee mimic (to me anyway).
(Over time I've tried to make a concerted effort to take the handful of bee, wasp, and bee-like (or mimics) bugs and identify them... since I don't really have the time and energy to identify everything I come across!)
