Chalcophora angulicollis

Chalcophora angulicollis
Port Alberni, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada
June 26, 2005
Not sure if this is C. angulicollis or C. virginiensis. Leaning towards C. angulicollis, IF they are two separate species. According to "Insects of the Pacific Northwest" (Haggard, 2006) they are one and the same, but that doesn't appear to be the case looking at Bug Guide!

Thanks for confirming!

Moved from Chalcophora. The specialists consider angulicolis valid - the latest nomenclature doesn't always make it into regional guides. even recently published ones.
