Season
Heppner (2003) reported March to October. (1)
The adults are most common in June and July. (2)
Food
In Illinois, it feeds on common moonseed, Menispermum canadense, which is in the same family as Cocculus carolinus of Louisiana. (Menispermaceae) (Terry Harrison, 2 August, 2012)
Heppner (2003) listed Annona muricata L. (soursop). (1)
Remarks
Omphalocera cariosa has dimorphic larvae.
"Adults look very much the same but the caterpillars that feed on Agarita in the spring look a little different than those that feed on Snailseed in the fall. Wagner thinks there are probably two different species but nobody has studied it." (V. Bugh, pers. comm. 2013 to MAQ)
