I found a couple of chalcid wasps on dead rats. I had no idea they were attracted to carrion.

Right ID…
These are primary parasitoids of several fly families, including Calliphoridae, Muscidae, and Sarcophagidae. They are present in at least fifteen states, including Texas.

I see in the discussion here that another species preys on carrion fly larvae.

They were apparently oviposit
