Is this (Meromacrus acutus) (?)

On a mossy tree trunk. Very busy… rarely came to rest. (Thanks)

I see the Yellowjacket Hoverfly (Milesia virginiensis) fairly regularly around here but this is the first time I have seen one of these guys :)
