Beetle Found Upside Down on Beach - Odontotaenius disjunctus

Beetle Found Upside Down on Beach - Odontotaenius disjunctus
Tracys Landing, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, USA
October 4, 2014

Red Odontotaenius disjunctus?
It really looks like a red morph of a patent-leather beetle (Odontotaenius disjunctus) maybe due to it having recently molted or malnourished.
