Irridescent Green & Copper Beetle - Buprestis aurulenta

Irridescent Green & Copper Beetle - Buprestis aurulenta
Nevada City, Nevada County, California, USA
June 1, 2019
Size: 22 mm not incl antennae
This beetle looks similar to an Emerald Ash Borer except more beefy and distinctly striped (top part of wings) and there is a copper stripe visible with the wings closed down center of back and along wing edges. It is a gorgeous iridescent color all over. The under wings are copper and the underbody appears copper with strong iridescent sheen. I live in northern Calif western foothills of Tahoe at about 3300 ft elevation with primarily conifer species trees - oak, madrone, pines & doug fir, some manzanita. The beetle caught my eye as it flew by and landed on white metal siding. Have never seen these beetles in the area before.
