Size: 15+ mm
May 4, 2019: at the annual volunteer INHF garlic mustard pull, my young friend Lydia spent her time looking for insects. She found, caught, or showed me about 8 different species including some on a dead deer. She collected a fly larva but once again I did not take a photo of the larva in a timely manner.
May 10, 2019: larva is now a pupa
May 24, 2019: adult fly, photographed and released it
