Melanactes yes, but not sold in M. piceus
elytral striae seem too well-defined.

The location is not confirmatory; it only rules-out M. densus (West Coast) and M. consors (Great Plains).

Looks like Melanactes
I'm leaning toward Melanactes piceus. Although the right elytron shows distinct punctuation defining the elytral straiae, the reflection on the left elytron shows that the striation intervals are smooth and flat, not raised. The locality also lends itself to Melanactes piceus.
