This species was number 3763 in the 1983 Hodges Checklist.
Explanation of Names
Nycthia pimana (Busck, 1907) and Nycthia yuccatana (Busck, 1907) were formerly unassigned to genus in Meltzer & Brown (2014)(3). Pogue (1986) proposed the genus Nycthia for this species in his unpublished Ph.D. dissertation and is nomen nudum (unavaillable). Brown (2019)(1) published the name Nycthia.
