Any thoughts on this grasshopper? I can't get farther than Acrididae despite having looked through the plates in Capinera, Scott & Walker's Field Guide to Grasshoppers, Katydids and Crickets several times.

Thanks

Northern Green-striped?
Check out the images (lots of 'em!) of Chortophaga viridifasciata or northern green-striped grasshoppers on this site. This looks like a female and the majority of females for this species are supposed to be green, but there are exceptions. The early date on which you saw this hopper (May 1st) also suggests an overwintering late-stage nymph that matured in the spring.

Thanks
Thanks for the id -- and especially for the hint about remembering to check overwintering stage.
