Deer Fly? - Silvius gigantulus - Female
River Haven Drive at 2100 feet in the Sierra foothills, Mariposa County, California, USA

I felt her biting my calf as I was photoing a wasp and I slapped without seeing what it was. She fell to the ground and I picked her up to photograph. I think it is Silvius gigantulus.
