Not Sminthuridae
Hi Kerry. More probably Bourletiellidae.

Bourletiellidae??
Not familiar with this family name, nor do I see it in the Guide's taxonomy for the critter. Always willing to learn what's new (never know what the splitters or lumpers are up to). ;)>

Possibly Deuterosminthurus pallipes?
Hi Kerry, to find out more on Collembola taxonomy visit collembola.org.

Many thanks...
for the link, more information than I can soak up in a few visits, the new (to me) preservation fluids were of interest. I did observe the head to head liquid transfer shown in one image there. A very fine site indeed. Keep it expanding. Maybe some brave editor type will update the Collembola content here at BugGuide.

You can move this page to Bourletillidae yourself
Hi Kerry. There is no need for a brave guy at Bugguide to update your images. You can move them yourself to their proper place in the guide. Check out the Help page for details.
