Wasp - a 'great black', oh wise ones? - Isodontia mexicana
Kingman Island, District of Columbia, USA
June 16, 2019
This individual did not strike me as unusually large; thinking a tweak over 1"... but doesn't seem blue enough to be a blue mud.... It's probably something completely else, any help to ID is appreciated. Was parked in midmorning sun on a mound of japanese clematis on Kingman Island.
