Size: 4.5 mm
Found in leaf litter. Antennae detached. I believe that this is a springtail in the Tomoceridae? Comments or corrections welcome!

Indeed. Given the very long 3rd antennal segment (broken off part bottom right). Another characteristic = the 3rd abdominal segment is a bit larger then the 4th.

for all of your comments! I am quite interested in these little hexapods, and plan to try to use the keys on the collembola.org web site to help ID them. They are so far the most ubiquitious "bugs" I've been finding around here...
