Blue Butterfly on unknown bloom - Cupido comyntas - male

Blue Butterfly on unknown bloom - Cupido comyntas - Male
Wheaton, DuPage County, Illinois, USA
July 27, 2004
If anyone knows the type of bloom the butterfly is feeding on, that would be great!

I am not sure what I was doing with this one back in 2008,
but I think it got moved to by accident at some point. Anyway, I was wrong about Echinargus, and it is a male Cupido comyntas, an Eastern Tailed Blue.

Moved from Reakirt's Blue.

Hemiargus (or Echinargus) isola

Looks like a lawn clover
maybe Alsike Clover, Trifolium hybridum??
