Micridium sp. - Micridium

Micridium sp. - Micridium
Sandia Mnts, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, USA
January 13, 2008
Size: 0.6 mm
These are quite common in mixed Gambels oak/ponderosa pine detritus in the mountains.
They cleanly key to Micridium in American Beetles. Hall says there is only M lineatum described so far and D&A says this is not lineatum. So it is probably another of the undescribed species Hall mentions.

Very inspiring
Nice set of detailed images of these tiny feather-winged beetles.

Thanks. I'm trying to improve my technique by studying what others are doing. My lighting is still problematic.
