Size: ~5mm
Found this guy in our the edge of a brick planter in our garden. He appears to have a problem with mites. (live oak/chaparral habitat).

It was having some difficulty flying, that's why I was able to get reasonably good photos of it.

I guess what I was wondering was what happens when they get a mite on their wing that way ? Do they just die because they can't get around or do they have some way of removing the mite ?
