Small Biting Insect

Small Biting Insect
levittown, nassau County, New York, USA
July 2, 2019
I have been encountering these guys on my property by an old maple tree i have. They have a good bite and are about the size of of a grain of rice, maybe closer to half the size of grain of rice. I have scoured the lists of new york insects i could find but haven't seen anything quite like these little guys on any list or searches i have done. Would appreciate anyone who knows what these are just so i know if they cause any damage or anything.

Lacewing larva

They're known to "taste" people now and again, but they don't suck blood or transmit disease. In fact, they and their parents are beneficial predators of aphids and other pest species.
