I found this on my kitchen floor. It seems like it might be some type of butterfly pupae?

Soldier fly
Hi,
This looks a lot like a Soldier Fly larva.
The body is flattened, but not thin. the tiny head is also making me think this.
A pupa would not have the head exposed and could begin to have adult features.
