Female, Phylloicus mexicanus? - Phylloicus mexicanus - Female
Madera Canyon, Santa Cruz County, Arizona, USA

Elevation: 5,424 ft
I caught this caddisfly while it was hovering approximately a foot over a small pond in a stream. Curiously, it quickly dropped to the water surface and immediately returned to hovering at its original spot. It performed this action sequence at least five times before I swept it. I'm guessing that it was dipping the tip of her abdomen into the water and laying eggs (assuming it was a female). I understand that different caddisfly species lay eggs near, on, or in the water.

Nice information
This is a very nice submittal with locality, habitat and biology information. And I would agree with your determination. Very nice pics.

Thank you Dave!
I kept the specimen to produce focus-stacked close up views later. As always, I appreciate your help.
