Sphinx Moth Caterpillar (Proserpinus?) - Proserpinus flavofasciata

Sphinx Moth Caterpillar (Proserpinus?) - Proserpinus flavofasciata
SW of Monroe, Snohomish County, Washington, USA
July 5, 2019
My husband told me he found a "demonic grub" (because of the red eye) while pulling some Fireweed in our backyard. I had never seen a caterpillar like this before. After looking at similar pictures on this site, I think it may be a Proserpinus sphinx moth. Can anybody confirm this and identify the exact species?
I uploaded several pictures to show the eye from above and from the side, as well as the legs and the face.
