Need id Triatoma Protracta? - Reduvius personatus
Montreal, quebec County, Quebec, Canada
July 6, 2019
Size: half inch
Hi! I'm a french canadian from Montréal. I found this in my house around 8pm at night in my living room near the curtain. It dosent seems to fly. It makes a noise when i try to hold it steady for picture. It has a long nose. I wonder if it is a kissing bug but i think it dosen't live in my area. My boyfrind travels a lot for work so i wonder if it was in is luggage... Also i have a strange bite but it's on the hip not the face and it dosent hurt. I did my best for the pictures sorry for the poor quality. Thanks :)

Redivius personatus

It's in the same family as the kissing bugs, but it's a predator, not a parasite. It can deliver a painful bite if threatened, but it doesn't suck blood or transmit disease. To read about it, click on the image and then on the Info tab.
