Rosaceae sp. with leaf galls

Rosaceae sp. with leaf galls
Sandia Mountains, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, USA
June 23, 2019
Download high resolution image here.

I found this tree with galls on the underside of its leaves at 35°10'06.0"N 106°23'17.0"W, 7785 ft. elevation, Sandia Crest 7.5’ quadrangle, along Faulty Trl. (No. 195) in the Sandia Mountains, Bernalillo Co., NM. The tree is in the family Rosaceae as best as I can determine from the key of Carter 2012, Trees and Shrubs of New Mexico Revised and Expanded.

The images in this linked set show the galls at consecutively higher magnification and resolution. The final two are of a single gall with tubular protrusions, many of which have been broken open. This reveals they are filled with yellow spheroidal objects with a diameter of about 20 µm. If anyone can identify the taxon of the parasite or host more specifically, I would appreciate it.

These are the same sort of fungal structures, apparently on the same species of tree, posted here:

The spheroids seen at the highest magnification (last) image are, therefore, spores.

The plant is an Amelanchier
And the fungus is Gymnosporangium juniperi-virginianae, or something closely related.
