Ironclad with cream markings - Phloeodes diabolicus

Ironclad with cream markings - Phloeodes diabolicus
Fair Oaks, Sacramento County, California, USA
December 28, 2007
Size: about 19.5mm
Found inside a large, term*ite-and-ant-riddled log that contained quite a variety of beetles and other arthropods. This is my second zopherid species :-) I later found another one and gave it to my collecting trip partner, Will Chatfield-Taylor. He posted his and IDed it right away so I'm just sponging off all his hard work.
