white Mayfly - Hexagenia - female

white Mayfly - Hexagenia - Female
North Bay, Ontario, Canada
July 14, 2019
Size: appr 2.5 cm body
I was surprised to see white Mayflies amongst darker ones!!
There were hundreds of Mayflies on the back wall of the Eagle's Nest Gas Bar on Migizii Miikan Rd in North Bay. (I understand that it's an annual occurrence that fishermen love and that even T-shirts celebrating the Mayfly get printed!)

Female how
Can one tell it is a female ?

Sex Determination
Ilze-

The most obvious way to determine the sex of a winged mayfly (subimago or imago) is to look for claspers sticking out of the posterior end of the abdomen. Females will be absent claspers, and males will have them.

Like a dragonfly then,
Thank you Roger.

Hexagenia
Hi Ilze-

I believe this female imago to be of genus Hexagenia.
