Identifiers

From the species info page when a photo is submitted: "Identifier ______. Optional. An identifier for your own uses. If you choose something unique here from your own records, you can easily find this image later using search"

How? On which search field do you enter the identifier?

My way
A sample identifier from me is "OakGall4/5/11upper" for the image here. Including the date makes it possible to find the original image on my computer, which is handy if someone wants to see other views of the subject or asks permission to publish an image, perhaps at higher resolution than at BG or with more background included.

example of identifier
As an example, I use izl-beetle on all the beetles I post. Then when I want to see what I have posted for beetles, I type izl-beetle in the Search box on the top right-hand side of page and hit the search button. This pulls up all the photos of beetles that I have posted. If you are going to use identifiers, it's best to start early otherwise it's quite a chore to add the identifers later. You can also use more than one identifier if you want to break down the search further. Take a look at my account page for further examples.
