Chlosyne acastus? - Chlosyne

Chlosyne acastus? - Chlosyne
Little Round Valley, Mono County, California, USA
June 27, 2019
~7100' elevation. Butterfly was taking refuge within Bitterbrush (Purshia tridentata) on a cold, windy, early evening.

Checkerspot - Moved
The "whiteness" of the median band does tend to suggest C. acastus,
but with several closely related species in the same general range,
and just this one view,
I leave the species call to an expert.
(which is certainly not me at this time).

Moved from Brush-footed Butterflies.
