I have no idea what the source for this might be--could just as easily be any of several other plants in the area...I have no idea if it is occupied, but it may be.

There are white oak trees far
There are white oak trees far overhead, Ostrya virginiana trees lower down, and a few shrubs like Viburnum (rafinesqueanum), seedling Pinus taeda, Dicanthelium, and a few other small things--my best guess is that it's from the Quercus alba... seems far to travel, but with silk, much is possible...
