Thread-waisted wasp - Ammophila procera - female

Thread-waisted wasp - Ammophila procera - Female
Minuteman Historical National Park, Lexington, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
July 20, 2019
I assume this is Ammophila sp. I also assume identification to species is not possible... I also guess this is a female, judging by the fact that it seemed intent to dig in the sand- maybe looking for a spot for a burrow?

Moved
Moved from Thread-waisted Wasps.

Note, she has uniformly tinted wings, red color on the abdomen, silver side stripes on the thorax and heavy ridges on the front of the thorax. (scutum/pronotum)

Thanks!
Thanks very much for the placement Bob, I especially appreciate your corresponding explanation.
